Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders reveals Big 12 surprise favorite stadium

Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders has played in many different college football stadiums throughout his career, including last season at Oregon’s legendary Autzen Stadium and UCLA’s historic home venue, the Rose Bowl.

His favorite stadium, however, may be a surprise.

The Colorado quarterback, who is entering his final season in Boulder, revealed in a recent podcast that he likes the atmosphere at Arizona State’s Mountain America Stadium.

“I would definitely say I like Arizona State,” Sanders said of his favorite stadium in a recent episode of his podcast 2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders. “Yeah, it was lively at Arizona State.”

Why Shedeur Sanders likes to play at Arizona State’s football stadium

Are you surprised by this selection? Maybe it shouldn’t be.

It was certainly a lively affair at ASU Stadium when the Buffaloes and Sun Devils faced off last season, with Colorado winning 27-24 on October 7, 2023.

After Arizona State tied the game with 50 seconds left, Sanders and the Buffaloes stormed down the field and won the game with a 43-yard field goal by Alejandro Mata.

Sanders went to the ASU student section to celebrate after Colorado’s victory.

Earlier in the game, Sanders appeared to throw an ASU player’s mouthpiece after a Buffaloes touchdown.

Yes, you could definitely call it lively.

Arizona State Football: What does a successful 2024 season look like for the Sun Devils?

Shedeur Sanders’ preferred stadium should come as no surprise

Colorado won just four games last season, and the Buffaloes have only one other road win: a 45-42 victory at TCU in the season opener.

Sanders’ team lost 42-6 at Oregon on September 23 and 28-16 at UCLA on October 28. He did not play in the Buffaloes’ 23-17 loss to Utah in Salt Lake City.

No wonder Arizona State Stadium is currently his favorite stadium to play at.

Unfortunately, it looks like this will be the only time the quarterback plays in this arena. Colorado and Arizona State both joined the Big 12 Conference this season, but they are not scheduled to play each other in 2024.

In many early NFL 2025 mock drafts, Sanders is considered a high-ranking draft pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Colorado and Arizona State have rekindled their football rivalry in the Pac-12 over the past few years. It’s a shame that Sanders and ASU won’t be able to continue that rivalry in the Big 12 this season.

It would have been “lively”.
