PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — SEPTA Regional Rail trains were delayed by up to 20 minutes in both directions in Philadelphia on Thursday evening, the transit agency said on social media.
SEPTA said the outage was due to an “Amtrak power outage” near 30th Street Station.
The following lines are affected: Airport, Chestnut Hill East, Chestnut Hill West, Fox Chase, Doylestown, Media, Norristown, Thorndale, Trenton, Warminster, Newark and West Trenton.
SEPTA’s regional trains were temporarily shut down Thursday morning due to a fire in North Philadelphia. Service has resumed, but trains were delayed due to the outage, SEPTA said.
The fire broke out at 803 West Master Street in North Philadelphia and was extinguished, according to fire officials.
According to SEPTA, the Philadelphia Fire Department requested that all traffic through Center City – from Temple University to Jefferson Station – be shut down because of the fire.
