College Station ISD Superintendent Discusses Goals for 2024-2025 School Year

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – More than 14,000 College Station students are returning to school for the 2024-25 school year.

Superintendent Tim Harkrider, who is entering his second year with the district, joined News 3 at 6 to discuss the upcoming semester.

The new school year may bring questions and fears for some, and Harkrider says they are ready to support families in the district.

“We’re here to provide great customer service, so whatever you need or whatever you have questions about, there’s no need to sit around and wonder. We’re here to support you, so please call us, send us an email and we’ll respond,” Harkrider said. “We want you and your child to have a great learning experience with us.”

Last year, voters approved two bond proposals that benefited College Station ISD athletics.

“We are excited about the opportunities our taxpayers have given us to offer some new things to our students,” Harkrider said.

He added that some of these improvement projects would begin soon.

“On our three middle school football fields approved as part of the 2023 bond, we will break ground in November once the middle school football season is over. Behind the scenes, we are planning the additions to Consol High School, College Station High School and CTE Center Phase Two, as well as renovating our stadiums,” Harkrider said.
