Gio’s Mobile Home Park gets power again

YUMA, Arizona (KYMA, KECY) – All people affected by a power outage at a mobile home park in El Centro last weekend have had power restored as of Tuesday.

Things were different this weekend: More than 1,000 people were left in the dark.

Now these families want to know if they will get their money back.

At least 18 families were still without electricity on Tuesday morning.

An employee at Gio’s mobile home community says that is no longer the case and that plans are now in place to reimburse families for the costs they incurred during the power outage.

“They will give money to people who have no food and to those who have no electricity right now. They will continue to pay for the hotel until everything is fixed,” said Viridiana Osuna, whose parents live in Gio’s trailer park.

A total of 271 households were affected by the power outage and were assisted by local first responders.

“To the El Centro Police Red Cross and their staff who stayed there all night while everything was happening because they helped many people right there on the ground,” Osuna continued.

An employee at Gio’s Mobile Home Estates told us that the power outage issue had just been resolved and that they were working with the displaced families to get them back home as quickly as possible.
