Saint George Place, perhaps better known as the former K-Mart Shopping Center, has begun construction on its huge property. This shopping center has been YEARSand the construction work brings both sadness and excitement! The property currently looks like something out of an apocalyptic movie, but the vision of Saint George Place is beautiful!
SAME ENTRANCE, BETTER VIEW:
The Main Street entrance will remain, but will be made more visually appealing and wider to ensure safety for cars and pedestrians. The additional space was created by demolishing two suites, one on each side of the existing entrance/exit. Together with the new construction, MANY of new greenery around the new entrance.
RESTAURANT OPPORTUNITIES?
From this view of Saint George Place, taken from the west side of Bluff Street, it looks like the site that used to house banks and Dixie Nutrition has been demolished and replaced with restaurants with at least one drive-thru window. This view is the most exciting shot of the new mall and shows great potential!
GORGEOUS NEW LOOK:
It also looks like ALL suites in this new mall are being renovated. These new facades feature many new windows, trees, plants and a brand new modern look! This mall will look GREAT when all is said and done!
Signs on Bluff Street say Saint George Place will be completed in fall 2024, but I don’t think that’s true. As always, I’ll keep everyone updated on any news regarding Saint George Place!
