The Dodgers’ Walker Buehler had a 0,000 watch stolen in a robbery at the track

According to multiple reports, Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Walker Buehler had a watch worth over $100,000 stolen on September 28 while attending a horse race at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California. ABC7 Eyewitness News was first to report the news.

Buehler, a horse racing fan, was joined at the track by his wife, McKenzie, and Dodgers teammate Jack Flaherty. A gang of thieves surrounded Buehler and grabbed the expensive watch, although neither the Dodgers pitcher, his wife, nor Flaherty were harmed in the incident, Arcadia police said in a statement posted to their account on X, formerly Twitter.

“In one incident, a victim was walking among a large crowd of people,” the statement said. “While the victim was walking through the crowd, he was surrounded by a group of unknown suspects. These suspects restricted the victim’s movement and caused confusion.”

“While the victim’s movement was restricted, one of the suspects managed to remove the victim’s watch from his wrist. After he removed the watch, the group of suspects dispersed and left the area. At this point, the victim realized that his watch was not stolen and reported the incident to Santa Anita Park security. At no time during the incident was the victim threatened.

Buehler was one of three victims who had a watch stolen at the track that day, police said. The Dodgers have not yet commented on the incident. Buehler’s agency, Excel Sports Management, said the following in a statement obtained from Russell Dorsey: Yahoo Sports.

“After Walker’s final regular-season start on September 27, he and a number of other players did not travel to Colorado for the final regular-season series,” the agency said. “This weekend, Walker and his wife, McKenzie, attended horse racing events” at Santa Anita Park.

“As Walker walked from the paddock to their seats, he unknowingly fell victim to the theft of his watch. The incident was reported to police and is currently under investigation.

“We are grateful that Walker and McKenzie were not injured and Walker is focused on the playoffs.”

The news comes as Buehler prepares to take the mound for the Dodgers in Game 3 of the National League Division Series against the San Diego Padres at Petco Park. The series is currently tied at one game apiece.
