Jonah Gadjovich made it 5-1 at 9:12 of the second period by parrying a pass from behind from Jesper Boqvist.

“You have to play every 60 minutes and they are a good team that plays hard,” Gadjovich said. “But if we focus on our game and take care of ourselves, we will come away with a few wins.”

McAvoy made it 5-2 at 12:32 of the second minute, scoring a five-pointer after Bobrovsky failed to block John Beecher’s first shot.

NOTES: The Panthers announced after the game that they had signed forward Carter Verhaeghe to an eight-year contract. “As an adult, you’re just trying to make it to the NHL and find a place,” Verhaeghe said. “And I think being a Florida Panther for so long is a great honor for me. To extend it even longer, I mean…I’m so proud to be a Panther for life.”…Panthers defenseman Adam Boqvist left the game at 15:24 of the first period after appearing to be caught on a clearance attempt had taken a puck from his jaw.
