Former million Eagles Pro Bowler brought in as Falcons target

The Philadelphia Eagles signed former Pro Bowler Devin White last offseason, but did not get the return on investment they were hoping for.

White did not appear in any Eagles games. Due to an injury, he missed the team’s Week 1 game against the Green Bay Packers in Brazil. After that he was a hit at times and missed a game for personal reasons.

Things haven’t worked out for White this season, although the Eagles could use some reinforcements at linebacker. He was released by the team on Tuesday and will now look for a new opportunity on the open market.

It’s unclear where he will end up, but before his release, CBS Sports’ Cody Benjamin named the Atlanta Falcons as a possible landing spot for a trade.

“Atlanta Falcons,” Benjamin said. “Take (linebacker) Devin White from the Philadelphia Eagles. The Falcons could use depth at center with Troy Andersen injured and Kaden Elliss better suited to rush the passer. And the boom-or-bust White was the odd man out in Philly’s linebacker corps.”

Atlanta has shown that it is not afraid to take action. Things have worked out for the Falcons so far this season, as they are currently 3-2 on the young season and hold the top spot in the NFC South.

White could use a fresh start after everything ended badly with Philadelphia. Could he join the Falcons?
