Trump team accidentally uses plane that once belonged to Jeffrey Epstein

WASHINGTON – After its regular plane was rendered inoperable due to mechanical problems, Donald Trump’s campaign faced another transportation problem Monday: It recently had to resort to using a plane once owned by convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

The campaign said it deployed the plane on an emergency basis on Saturday after Trump Force One was disabled en route to a campaign rally in Montana. Officials said they were unaware that the backup plane they used to fly to fundraisers in Wyoming and Colorado once belonged to Epstein.

“We had absolutely no idea,” said a campaign official who discussed the plane situation on condition of anonymity.

The plane in question was not the so-called “Lolita Express” that Epstein allegedly used to transport young girls to a private island. That plane was destroyed.

Trump and Epstein once knew each other privately, but there is no evidence that the former president knew of Epstein’s illegal activities. Epstein died in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges in a Manhattan jail.

The confusion came to light after a social media user identified the tail number of the plane Trump used on Saturday.
