It’s time to get a little taste of Bikini Bottom’s famous fast food – the Krabby Patty.

The Krabby Patty Kollab menu honoring SpongeBob SquarePants’ 25th anniversary is available at Wendy’s on Tuesday, October 8th. It is available for a limited time.

What is SpongeBob SquarePants?

SpongeBob SquarePants is a popular animated film on Nickelodeon that features a young french fry chef named SpongeBob and his adventures with his friends Patrick Starfish, Squidward Tentacles, Mr. Krab and Sandy Squirrel. SpongeBob works at the Krusty Krab and makes the famous Krabby Patty. He also foils the evil Plankton’s plans.

The animated film has been entertaining children and adults alike for 25 years.

What’s on the menu at Krabby Patty Kollab?

Pineapple under the frosty sea: Wendy’s Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty is the iconic Vanilla Frosty with a pineapple-mango flavored puree swirl – a unique Frosty flavor innovation of its kind.
Krabby Patty Collab Burger: Wendy’s take on a Krabby Patty consists of a quarter of a Wendy’s beef patty, two slices of melted American cheese, crisp lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions and a top-secret Krabby Kolab sauce on a toasted bun. You can get a single, double or triple Krabby Patty Kollab Burger.

How does the Krabby Patty Kollab Burger taste at Wendy’s?

I don’t want to be Squidward here, but there’s nothing special about this burger. It’s a Wendy’s burger with typical toppings. The top secret Krabby Kolb sauce combined with the burger pickles creates the taste of a Thousand Island dressing. Either that, or Wendy’s hired Plankton to steal McDonald’s Big Mac special sauce recipe, and he only came back with two-thirds of it.

It’s not a bad burger. It’s just the lack of imagination. There was no SpongeBob packaging or anything else that made it different than ordering a Wendy’s burger. Nothing screamed Krabby Patty or SpongeBob.

What does the Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty taste like at Wendy’s?

For full disclosure, the Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty used for this review was made with a chocolate frosty instead of vanilla. The Wendy’s where it was purchased didn’t have vanilla frosty, which is funny since Wendy’s recently singled out McDonald’s for broken ice cream machines.

The Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty is special and different. The pineapple mango puree has a sweet tropical flavor that rivals boba in bubble tea. The combination with a chocolate frosty was divine. There are places where you may not taste the puree, which is okay since a Frosty is delicious on its own too. But when you get both flavors, it’s like pineapple and mango covered in chocolate. While vanilla is the standard, the puree offers the versatility to suit both Frosty flavors.

If Wendy’s were smart, it would introduce a line of fruity purees to accompany its Frostys. It would open up a world of possibilities.
