Details of the arrest of Colbie Young of Georgia are contained in a police report

What we know after Georgia soccer player Colbie Young was arrested Tuesday, according to local police records.

Georgia’s football program faced another legal issue this week when wide receiver Colbie Young was suspended for two misdemeanors, including assault and battery on an unborn child.

Now we have a clearer picture of the situation from the arresting officer’s perspective from the Athens-Clarke County (Ga.) police report.

When the officer arrived at the scene, he met with Young’s ex-girlfriend, who said she went to Young’s apartment to discuss the status of their relationship.

According to the police report, the discussion became more heated when she allegedly confronted Young about possible infidelity.

The ex-girlfriend told the officer that Young grabbed her arm and physically dragged her out of his room while using profanity, the report said.

She then claimed he picked her up from behind, squeezing her torso and stomach, and the arresting officer noted visible bruising on the right side of her chest and on her side.

Young denied causing the injuries and said that although the argument between him and the woman was heated, he only walked her to the door.

However, according to the police report, the arresting officer found probable cause to arrest Young based on what he described as physical evidence.

According to official police reports, Young was posted on a $2,500 bond for the battery charge at 4:18 a.m. local time.
