Saints player to watch

QB Derek Carr knows Kansas City from his time as a player for the AFC West rival Raiders. He has struggled the past two weeks, throwing for just 142 yards in a loss to Philadelphia and 239 yards in a loss to Atlanta. Carr has also been substituted in each of the last three games.

Chiefs players to watch

TE Travis Kelce finally had a big game against the Chargers last week, catching seven passes for 89 yards. He still hasn’t scored this season, but the four-time All-Pro’s sudden increase in performance was important after the Chiefs lost WR Rashee Rice to a knee injury.

Key match

Saints RB Alvin Kamara against the Kansas City run defense that has shut down some of the league’s best players in the first four weeks. The Ravens’ Derrick Henry rushed for 46 yards in the opener, the Bengals’ Zack Moss managed just 34 the next week, Falcons star Bijan Robinson had 16 carries for 31 yards and JK Dobbins rushed for 32 yards for the Chargers last week. The speedster already had great potential, but now Worthy believes he can score more goals with Rice sidelined with a knee injury. And he’ll be up against a Saints pass defense that ranks 26th in the league.
