Quick takeaways

Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk received the 49ers’ highest overall grade (90.0) and the game’s second-highest grade, trailing only Cardinals safety Dadrion Taylor-Demerson (91.8). Sunday marked Aiyuk’s best game of the season as he had eight catches for 147 yards on 12 targets. An impressive 115 of those yards came in the first half, setting a career high for most receiving yards recorded in a single half. However, Aiyuk has yet to find the end zone this season.

Quarterback Brock Purdy completed just 54.3 percent of his passes and threw for 244 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. It was his lowest completion percentage this season and his lowest since Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns last season.

Running back Jordan Mason received an offensive grade of 57.2, his lowest grade of the season. While he managed 89 yards on 14 carries – an average of 6.4 yards per carry – a costly mistake late in the game lowered his overall grade.

Left tackle Trent Williams posted an impressive 83.8 offensive grade, making him the game’s highest-graded offensive lineman. Despite allowing three pressures, it was Williams’ second-highest mark of the season, just shy of his 83.9 mark from last week against the Patriots.

Permissible pressures in the starting O-line:

For the first time this season, defensive end Nick Bosa led the 49ers defense with a grade of 87.9. He logged two pressures, second only to defensive end Leonard Floyd’s three tackles.

Floyd posted the team’s highest pass rushing grade at 73.3 after recording the defense’s only sack of the game.

Pressure from 49ers defenders:

Linebacker Dee Winters had the best coverage grade with 10 coverage snaps (77.6), followed closely by cornerback Deommodore Lenoir with a grade of 74.3. Both allowed just one reception, with Winters giving up seven yards and Lenoir giving up none.

Cornerback Isaac Yiadom posted a defensive grade of at least 76.4 for the second straight game, allowing one catch for 14 yards. He also led the team in run defense with a grade of 77.9, followed by defensive end Sam Okuayinonu with a run defense grade of 77.0.

Linebacker Fred Warner received a defensive grade of 54.0, his lowest of the season, and his run defense grade of 50.3 against the Cardinals was also a season low.

Safety Talanoa Hufanga posted the team’s lowest overall grade (40.2) before exiting with a wrist injury. Safety Ji’Ayir Brown and cornerback Charvarius Ward also struggled, posting defensive grades of 42.7 and 42.9, respectively. Ward’s season defensive grade of 53.4 is a career low and is in stark contrast to his career-high grade of 84.7 from last season.
