Ahead of music’s biggest night, GRAMMY voters will vote on the artists and creators who will be nominated for the 2025 GRAMMYs, officially known as the 67th GRAMMY Awards.

The annual GRAMMY Awards voting process begins with first-round voting that determines nominees for the GRAMMY Awards each year. This year, First The voting round for the 2025 GRAMMYs begins Friday, October 4th.

MOST IMPORTANT DATES

The key dates for the 2025 GRAMMY Awards season are as follows:

September 16, 2023 – August 30, 2024
Product eligibility period
The time period by which recordings are submitted for GRAMMY consideration. All publications must be available for sale to the public by this date and through general distribution through at least the current year’s voting deadline date (final vote) to be eligible for the 2025 GRAMMY Awards.

July 8, 2024 – August 23, 2024
Registration period for media companies
Media companies have to apply for registration with the recording Academy for submitting recordings.

July 17, 2024 – August 30, 2024
Online registration period
All eligible recordings must be submitted before the end of the competition Online registration periodregardless of publication date.

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE FIRST ROUND GRAMMY VOTE

The annual GRAMMY voting process is divided into two phases: First round votingwhich determines all GRAMMY nominees for each GRAMMY category each year, and Last round of votingwhich ultimately determines the GRAMMY winners in all categories, which will be announced on GRAMMY night.

It is critical for all voting members of the Recording Academy to actively participate in both the first and final round voting. This will ensure that all eligible artists, musicians and creators are fairly evaluated based on their artistic and technical achievements, and will help the broader music community identify the leading music of the year as voted on by their peers.

Ballots submitted by GRAMMY voters during the first round of voting next month will determine the nominees for the 2025 GRAMMYs, who will be announced Friday, November 8thThat’s why it’s important to be there from the start.

WHO VOTES FOR THE GRAMMYS?

As the music industry’s only peer-voted award, the GRAMMY Award is the highest honor in the world all Music. That’s because GRAMMY nominees and winners are determined by voting members drawn from a pool of vetted and venerable artists, songwriters, producers, engineers, instrumentalists and other creators currently working in the recording industry. Every GRAMMY vote affirms that prestige and reinforces the highest excellence in music and the recording arts and sciences.

The ballot papers for the first round of elections will be sent to voting members with proper membership. To ensure coordination quality, Voting members only vote in their areas of expertise: up to 10 categories in three genre fields as well as the six general field categories (Album of the Year, Best New Artist, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Producer of the Year, Non-Classical and Songwriter of the Year). Non-classical). The ballots are then independently tabulated by the accounting firm Deloitte. This process ensures the quality of voting throughout the GRAMMY Awards process.

Voting members of the Recording Academy can access their first-round ballot for the 2025 GRAMMYs through it Member dashboard on Friday, October 4, starting at 9 a.m. PT/12 p.m. ET. First round voting closes Tuesday, October 15 at 6:00 p.m. PT/9:00 p.m. AND.

NEW CHANGES IN THE GRAMMY AWARDS CATEGORIES

In June, the Recording Academy released a series of updates to the annual GRAMMY Awards process for the 2025 GRAMMYs, including adjustments to eligibility criteria, renaming of categories and updates to submission guidelines for some categories. All updates will be effective immediately at the 2025 GRAMMYs. Understanding the Grammy Ballot
The search and flexibility improvements recently added to GRAMMY ballots will be available again this GRAMMY season. The category selection tool, which minimizes scroll time and creates an easy-to-use ballot for every voter, will be available again this year for the first round of voting.

LISTEN TO NOMINATED RECORDINGS

While First Round Voting, Recording Academy members can stream submitted recordings on select streaming services. The Recording Academy encourages all voting members to listen to all submitted recordings in the categories in which they are voting to ensure intentional listening and thoughtful voting. This process promotes respect and consideration for all creators and their submitted works on behalf of GRAMMY voters.
