Early Week 5 Game Thread: It’s a bright spot for the NFC

We had a game in London this morning between the Minnesota Vikings and the New York Jets. Sam Darnold eventually made a mistake, but New York couldn’t avoid him until it was too late.

Two playoff teams in the NFC have byes this week. You won’t see the Philadelphia Eagles or Detroit Lions play this week.

The main competitions during the morning schedule take place in the AFC. The Baltimore Ravens are recovering from the height of dismantling the Buffalo Bills on national television a week ago. Lamar Jackson and Co. are in Cincinnati to take on a Bengals offense that’s starting to get its act together but hasn’t shown much sign of stopping defensively this year.

The hopeless Jacksonville Jaguars should get their first home win against the struggling Joe Flacco’s and the Indianapolis Colts, who will be without running back Johnathan Taylor.

Mike McDaniel could use a good performance. His offenses have been trending in the wrong direction since December last year. The Miami Dolphins are on the road against the New England Patriots.

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills, who beat the Jaguars last week but trailed most of the game, face CJ Stroud and the Houston Texans. The Texans beat the Jaguars last week but trailed the entire game.

In the NFC, the Washington Commanders face the Cleveland Browns at home and the Carolina Panthers take on the Chicago Bears as Andy Dalton looks for revenge.
