Warriors travel to San Diego State to open league play

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai’i football team will travel to San Diego to open Mountain West play against rival San Diego State on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Snapdragon Stadium. The Rainbow Warriors (2-2, 0-0 MW) are coming off a bye week, while the Aztecs (1-3, 0-0) lost for the third straight season after a loss at Central Michigan. SDSU is 12-4 in the series at home, including 10 wins in the last 11 meetings on the continent.

GAME STORIES

  • This week’s game marks the 39th meeting between the two teams, with San Diego State holding a 25-11-2 lead.
  • The Aztecs have won 10 of the last 12 in the series and 19 of 23. SDSU has won four straight games overall after UH won two straight games in 2018 and 2019.
  • SDSU has a 12-4 lead in the series at home after winning 10 of its last 11. (including 2020 game in Carson, California)
