It seems like only yesterday we were excited to announce the first spring shows at Nashville’s outdoor amphitheaters, and here we are already listing the final shows before these venues close for the winter months.

Whether you want to rock out under the stars or in a venue, we’ve put together a list of our top live concert events you won’t want to miss in October.

Oct. 6: Koe Wetzel

Even a hurricane can’t stop East Texas linebacker and singer-songwriter Koe Wetzel from performing in his adopted hometown. His show at the Ascend Amphitheater on September 27th, which had to be canceled due to weather, has been rescheduled. For more information: Ascendenamphitheatre.com.

Oct. 9: Violent Femmes with the Nashville Symphony

If you still know every word to “Blister in the Sun,” you should check out the Violent Femmes’ upcoming show with the Nashville Symphony. Who knows what will happen when the owners of ’80s college theme songs merge with the symphony. It promises to be unique and “absolutely magnificent”. Information: nashvillesymphony.com.

10-13, 17-20 Oct.: Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit

Every year, Americana master Jason Isbell and his band, the 400 Unit, take over the Ryman Auditorium – a residency not to be missed. Each night brings a different special guest, from Mary Gauthier to Matraca Berg to Kim Richey. Tickets and information at countryman.com.

Oct. 11: Colter Wall

Colter Wall will bring his country energy to Franklin’s FirstBank Amphitheater with a little help from Corb Lund and Noeline Hofmann.
