Low pressure in the Gulf could continue to develop

A low pressure area over the western Gulf of Mexico could continue to develop next week. The chance of getting an education within two days is low at 10%, but after seven days the chance of getting an education goes back up to 50%. The potential weather maker will move east or northeast over the warm waters of the Gulf.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) said in its seven-day tropical weather outlook Friday afternoon: “A low pressure system over the western Gulf of Mexico is producing widespread shower and thunderstorm activity. This system is expected to develop into an extensive low pressure area.” This system over the southwest or south-central Gulf of Mexico during the next day or two, and further subsequent development is possible as the low slowly moves east or northeast. A tropical or subtropical depression or storm could form in the early to mid-part next week, if the low remains separated from a frontal boundary that is expected to extend across the Gulf of Mexico next week Mexico’s locally heavy rainfall will hit the Florida Peninsula this weekend and into next week.
