“Tom Selleck ‘frustrated’ after Blue Bloods cancellation”

Tom Selleck does not hide his frustration over the cancellation of the successful television show Blue blood.

“I’m kind of frustrated,” he said Magnum PI Stern, 79, says TV Insider during an interview on Thursday, October 3rd. “During these last eight shows, I didn’t want to talk about an ending Blue blood but about the fact that it is still extremely successful.”

Selleck – who has starred in the crime drama since 2010 – explained further Blue blood Ranked ninth out of 100 in the Top 100 Shows of 2023-2024, which only added to his frustration and confusion.

“I’m not going to turn into a bitter old guy saying, ‘Get off my lawn,'” he continued. “I don’t believe in holding grudges, but if you said to the television network, ‘Here’s a show you can schedule in the worst time slot you have, and that will guarantee you the next one on Friday night 15 shows gain years, it would be almost impossible to believe.”

Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, confirmed back in May that the network would be canceling the show. This isn’t the first time Selleck has expressed his displeasure with the decision to end the show. During an interview with CBS News in May, the actor said he would “continue to assume that CBS will come to its senses.”

Clearly, that one Quigley Down Under The star’s feelings have not changed.

When speaking with TV InsiderSelleck admitted that his “frustration” is that “the show was always taken for granted because it worked from the start.”

“So how do I feel?” he continued. “It will take a long time to sort this all out. I remember after the weekend (shooting the last episode) I said, “I have to go to bed early tonight because I have to do my dialogue for Monday.” Well, there was no Monday. It’s just going to take a while.”

The cast of Blue Bloods doesn’t just play a family on TV, they’ve become a close-knit group since the series premiered in 2010. In the police procedural, Selleck plays New York Police Commissioner Frank Reagan, the monarch of the Reagan family, who has a long history of law enforcement experience. The actor also plays the main role Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan And Will Estes. When CBS announced the show’s cancellation, it confirmed that the final episodes would air in the fall.

Following the announcement in May, the actor revealed that he may have to sell his 63-acre ranch in Ventura Country, California following the show’s cancellation.

“You know, hopefully I keep working enough to keep the spot,” he said CBS Morning. “If I stopped working, yes. Am I ready for life? Yes, but maybe not on a 150-acre ranch!”

The last eight episodes of Blue blood will air on CBS in December.
