Charlie Puth says he has one request for the band at his wedding: “No Charlie Puth music”

“This is going to embarrass me,” he said of his band, who played one of his hits at his wedding to Brooke Sansone in September.

Charlie Puth had a very specific request when it came to entertainment on his wedding day.

On Wednesday, October 2, the 32-year-old “One Call Away” singer appeared on SiriusXM The morning mash-up to promote his Roku Original series The Charlie Puth Show.

During the conversation, Puth answered a question from a fan who asked how the star, his new bride, and their closest friends and family celebrated the big day.

“Christian in Oklahoma City says, ‘Congratulations on your marriage, double exclamation point.’ Did the DJ play any of your songs at the reception?’” he read.

“No, Christian. I specifically requested that no Charlie Puth music be played at my – our wedding. This is going to embarrass me,” the “We Don’t Talk Anymore” singer said, admitting that some seemed a little taken aback by his request.

“But I could see that the band wanted it. They were because we’re all musicians,” he continued. “I have my drink in my hand. I am married. This is the happiest I’ve ever experienced. And they’re all looking at me with their horns on, and they’re like, you want us to do this, you want us to do a little ‘See You Again’ on the trumpet?”

Puth sang the notes while listening to the band playing his music.

“No, because that’s what everyone wants to hear at a wedding: ‘See You Again,'” he added of his 2015 collaboration with Wiz Khalifa. The song appeared on the soundtrack of Angry 7 as a tribute to franchise actor Paul Walker, who died in a car accident in 2013.

According to reports, Puth and Brooke Sansone tied the knot on September 7 at his family’s home in Montecito, California fashion. He later confirmed the wedding in an Instagram post on September 17.

“I love you, Brooke… I always have, with you I am my very best. “I promise I will love you every day in this life and even more as we move on to our next life,” the singer captioned the shared carousel.

“Brooke Ashley Sansone, and now you will be Brooke Ashley Puth. Thank you for making me the happiest man in the world. “It’s always been you,” he concluded.

The first two pictures showed Puth and the 25-year-old digital marketing and public relations coordinator posing for wedding portraits.

In the following two photos, the bride and groom were seen in front of the guests at their ceremony.

In the summer of 2022, the couple became romantically involved for the first time. Puth previously revealed during an appearance on SiriusXM’s Howard Stern Show in October 2022 that both are from New Jersey and their families grew up together.
