Tim Walz Responds to Supporting Bruce Springsteen: “The Boss”

Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express his excitement over Bruce Springsteen endorsing him and Kamala Harris.

On October 3, Springsteen posted a video on Instagram outlining his reasons for voting for Harris and Walz and urging fans to vote in what he called “one of the most consequential elections in our country’s history.” .

In response to Springsteen’s promotional video, Walz wrote, “Wow. As a lifelong fan of The Boss, I am honored to have his support.”

Walz’s response to the rock singer-songwriter’s support has earned 1.8 million views on X, as well as 98,000 likes and 10,000 reposts.

On his reasons for supporting Harris and Walz, Springsteen said: “Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are committed to a vision of this country that respects and includes everyone, regardless of class, religion, race, your political viewpoint or your sexual identity, and they . “We want to grow our economy in such a way that everyone benefits, not just a few like me at the top.”

He added: “This is the vision of America that I have written about consistently for 55 years.”

Springsteen concluded the video by saying, “Now everyone sees things differently and I respect your choice as a fellow citizen. But like you, I only have one voice, and it is one of the most valuable possessions I have. That’s why.” On November 5th, I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. Newsweek contacted Springsteen’s advertising agency, Shore Fire Media, via email after hours for comment.

The singer-songwriter also called former President Donald Trump “the most dangerous presidential candidate” of his lifetime.

Newsweek also reached out to Walz’s office and the Trump campaign via email outside of business hours seeking comment.

Springsteen’s endorsement came on the heels of fellow musician Taylor Swift’s endorsement of the Democratic candidates, which was also posted on Instagram on September 11 following the presidential debate on ABC.

Walz also expressed excitement about Swift’s support, responding during an interview on MSNBC, “For all of these things, I’m incredibly grateful to Taylor Swift in particular. I also say that as a cat owner, as a fellow cat owner.”

He continued: “You heard it. We know it’s there. That was eloquent and clear – and that is the kind of courage we need in America to stand up.”

Other musicians who have expressed their support for Harris include Megan Thee Stallion, Barbra Streisand, Billie Eilish, Carole King, John Legend, Stevie Nicks and more.

Springsteen has previously been politically active, expressing support for Barack Obama in 2008 and President Joe Biden in 2020.
