Travel accessories and marathon essentials

Since using Hatch Restore to fall asleep (and wake up), I’ve found it harder to fall asleep without a sound machine. That’s exactly why I checked out the brand’s Rest Go – it’s the perfect size to pack when I travel, whether I’m staying at a hotel, Airbnb, or at a friend’s house. I’m also looking for more Cadence capsules – I use the original capsules on almost every trip, and for longer vacations I’m looking at the larger stackable versions. Last but not least, I’m currently training for a marathon, so I went through hydration packets and pills in no time; I’m hoping some of my favorites from Nuun and LiquidIV are on sale so I can stock up on more. —Madison Flager, senior business editor

Comfortable cardigans and packable jackets

I’m always cold, whether I’m on a plane or in the office. And now that the weather is cooling down, it’s time for me to refresh my fall wardrobe and outerwear collection. I really need some new cozy cardigans and a light, packable jacket. Prime Day usually has some great deals on clothing essentials, so I plan on taking full advantage of this year’s sales. —Meaghan Kenny, trade editor

Improved basic equipment for your home

I’m actually trying to reduce the amount of stuff I own (anyone want a complete collection of the six Austen novels published by Oxford World’s Classics?) so I’m not necessarily looking for new things – except after bed linen. After recent stays at luxury hotels in Sydney like the Park Hyatt and Capella, I’m now determined to upgrade my home furnishings. My heart says break or break, but I don’t have thousands of dollars to spend on a sheet set, so I’m checking out some of these nicer-than-usual purchases and waiting for them to be marked down by at least another $20 or so percent for Prime Day. The savings go into my Frette comforter fund. Yes, I accept donations. —Matt Ortile, Associate Editor

Restocking Holy Grail skincare products

With cooler days ahead, I’m looking for skincare products that will help lock in moisture. I love L’Occitane’s Nécessaire shower gel and Cleansing and Softening Almond shower oil, but some days I find it hard to choose between the two. Both smell fantastic – Nécessaire has a eucalyptus note, while L’Occitane smells more nutty. I love a set, so on the days I opt for toiletries, I combine the shower gel with a lotion to keep the scent consistent. The lotion is super light and dries quickly, making it easy to apply in the morning. While I love a great duo, I also appreciate a product that can cover many areas (especially when luggage space is limited); The Ouai Body Scrub is gentle enough to use on the entire body – yes, from head to toe. I love how deeply it exfoliates the skin but also moisturizes the skin so it doesn’t feel dried out. —Paris Wilson, business writer

I’m nearing the end of some Tula products, particularly the eye balm and hydrating primer. So when they’re on sale, I’ll stock up on a few of each. I use the balm regularly, but it’s especially nice to have on hand after a long flight. —MF

A reliable travel steamer

The other day, as I was putting on another wrinkled shirt in frustration, I realized I could just buy a steamer. So that’s on my wish list for this sale: a good steamer, big enough to smooth out some serious wrinkles, but small enough to fit in my luggage. —Mercedes Bleth, Global Associate Director, Social

Road trip staple

This Prime Day, I value a mix of sustainability and fun – especially on my road trips. I really need a water bottle for travel and have recently fallen in love with the look and feel of this reusable drinking cup. For park days or hiking picnics, I’m also looking for a portable, ultralight hammock to add to my cart. I think it will be the perfect partner for sun watching. —Jessica Chapel, editorial assistant

A set of practical packing cubes

I would like to improve my packing organization. I used to be a staunch carry-on bag fan, but lately I’ve gotten a little too comfortable lazily tossing a few things into a checked bag. To maximize the efficiency of my next trip, I follow my colleagues’ advice and purchase a set of packing cubes. –MB

Beauty secrets discovered by TikTok

I made it my mission to stock up on all the hair and beauty finds on my wish list during the sale. I admit that TikTok inspired most of them, and for good reason. Who hasn’t been amazed by the magical properties of Chris Appleton’s Pure Wow hair line (frizz-free hair, here I come) or the Laneige lip mask, which has now become my holy grail lip product, and the brand’s lip balm too? In my search for glass skin, I looked into LED therapy and had my eye on the Project E Beauty Skin Rejuvenation Photon Mask. It has seven LED color settings and promises radiant results. I’ll round out my stash with Avène Thermal Water Spray, a refreshing staple for warm-weather excursions. —Pallavi Mohan Kumar, Senior Photo Editor

An elegant, satisfying piece of tech kit

I’ve been looking for a travel organizer that will bring order to my constant tech chaos – and dare I say, look good while doing it. I think the Bellroy kit might be it. I love that it holds all of my accessories, including larger ones, and that the zipper folds out flat for easy access. It is also made of recycled fabric and is available in a variety of great colors. Please register me for the bronze medal. Thank you. –Arati Menon, Global Digital Director
