SOG: LAK – 11 BOS – 2
PP: LAK – 0/1 BOS – 0/0

Second period
8:00 p.m. – The middle stanza begins as the teams look for the first goal of the game.
18:18 – Poke Czech! Rittich takes out a stick and knocks the puck off his compatriot David Pastrnak’s stick. Nice move from Rittich.
6:09 p.m. – The Kings get a power play early in the second period as Lindholm sits for the Bruins. The first chance of the evening for LA with a man advantage.

First period
8:00 p.m. – Kings and Bruins are on the road in Quebec City!
16:05 – Tricky shot from the point by Joel Edmundson through a crowd. The shot goes through a tangle of traffic at the net, Korpisalo saves. The rebound goes through the slot and out of the danger zone. Kings seem to be doing well in the early stages.
11:00 – Kings have generally been the better team so far, although to be fair there haven’t been many chances. Aside from a small scrum in front of Rittich, most of the play took place at the other end of the ice.
8:11 – Quinton Byfield’s move is ridiculous. One powerful step and he’s past two forecheckers and halfway across the neutral zone. So much power when skating.
4:42 – We play 4 against 4. Kind of a crazy sequence. Viel beat Turcotte from the corner, Andre Lee went on offense and completely canceled out Viel in the open ice, with Kyle Burroughs also coming in. The crowd breaks out on the blueline, Viel and Lee each go to the box.
2:59 – And right out of the penalty box, Lee and Viel drop their gloves. Plenty gets the takedown, but Lee does what he can to make it to the big club. If there’s a spot up for grabs, he’ll definitely try to push for it.
1:13 – Adrian Kempe, smooth puck mover. Good work from Kempe, finding Kopitar with a threaded pass through the slot. Kopitar’s shot is fired into a dangerous area, but the Bruins get cover before two converging Kings can bury it.
0:00 – There are no goals to report until matchday 20. I expected LAK to raise their level in the last five or so of this period after an overall slow start.

The Kings lineup tonight
Laferriere – Kopitar – Kempe
Jeannot-Danault-Moore
Fiala – Byfield – Foegele
Lee-Turcotte-Thomas

Anderson-Spence
Gavrikov-Burroughs
Edmundson-Clarke
