Garth Brooks is accused in new lawsuit of sexual assault and assault by makeup artist

A former makeup artist for Garth Brooks accused the country star of sexual assault and battery in a lawsuit filed Thursday.

Brooks, 62, allegedly raped “Jane Roe” during a work trip in 2019, according to court documents obtained by Fox News Digital. According to the documents, the woman was first hired in 1999 to do makeup and hair styling for Brooks’ wife, Trisha Yearwood. She began working on makeup and hair for Brooks in 2017, several years before the alleged events.

According to CNN, Brooks reportedly filed a lawsuit to supposedly block the makeup artist’s upcoming lawsuit. In the document filed under “John Doe,” Brooks allegedly denied the woman’s claims.

Representatives for Brooks and Yearwood did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

According to the complaint, Brooks and the makeup artist traveled to Los Angeles in 2019 for a Grammys tribute to R&B singer Sam Moore. Instead of having separate rooms, “Jane Roe” claimed that only one room was booked for the two of them to share.

“Upon arrival, Brooks suddenly appeared in the bedroom doorway completely naked,” the complaint states. “He stood there and tensed his muscles. Ms. Roe immediately had a sick feeling in her stomach knowing she was trapped in the room alone with Brooks, with no one to help her and far from Nashville.”

The makeup artist also accused Brooks of openly discussing sex in front of her, exposing his genitals, sharing sexual fantasies with her, sending her explicit messages and physically groping her breasts.

When she started working for Brooks, she was in dire financial straits.

“It wasn’t long before Brooks took advantage of her financial distress,” the lawsuit says. “Brooks took what he believed was an opportunity to expose an employee to a side of Brooks that he hides from the public. This side of Brooks believes he has a right to sexual satisfaction when he wants it, and using an employee to get it is fair game.”

The makeup artist claimed the frequency of these sexually charged acts increased after the alleged rape in 2019.

“Jane Roe” is demanding damages and a jury trial.

“We applaud our client’s courage in moving forward with her complaint against Garth Brooks,” “Jane Roe” lawyers said in a statement obtained by Fox News Digital. “Today’s complaint shows that sexual predators exist not only in corporate America, Hollywood, and the rap and rock and roll industries, but also in the world of country music.

“We are confident that Brooks will be held accountable for his actions, and his efforts to silence our client by filing a preemptive lawsuit in Mississippi were nothing more than an act of desperation and attempted intimidation. We encourage others who may have been victims of this to contact us because no survivor should suffer in silence.”
