Windy and mild conditions continue, as does the high fire danger over Wisconsin

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) – We have lower humidity and drier vegetation, leading to another day of increased fire danger. Dry vegetation will continue for the rest of this week, but winds will become less gusty towards the end of the week.

The chance of rain remains isolated at best Thursday night into Friday morning. Rainfall totals will remain below 0.10 inches in all communities. Our best chance in the next week or so is Saturday through Sunday morning. Showers are expected to be a little more scattered, but precipitation totals will still remain below 0.50 inches in all communities unless drastic changes occur. Of course I will inform you if anything changes.

A cold front will move through Saturday night into Sunday morning and we will cool down. Temperatures will be on somewhat of a roller coaster ride over the next week or so. Over the next few days we warm up, cool down on Friday, peak at 70 degrees on Saturday, then cool down again. Even as we cool down, temperatures tend to remain above average in early October.
