Bank of America confirms massive outage and account balances at alt=

Bank of America customers report massive problems with online and mobile banking.

Site monitoring service Downdetector shows that tens of thousands of customers have reported serious service disruptions in the last few hours, with users on social media platform X saying their balance had dropped to zero.

According to Downdetector, there is also a smaller but noticeable increase in the number of people reporting banking problems at JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo – with problems at all three banks beginning around 12:00 p.m. EST.

As of publication, more than 100 JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo customers have reported issues logging in and using the lenders’ banking apps and websites.

Banks of America has issued a statement about the disruptions its customers are facing, although the lender has not explained what triggered the widespread outage.

“Some customers today are experiencing issues accessing their account and balance information.

These issues are being addressed and are largely resolved. We apologize for any inconvenience.”
