Cleveland Browns Related to Trade for Two Star Wide Receiver

The Cleveland Browns desperately need an offensive boost. They are just 1-3 this season and 31st in the NFL in yards per game.

There are many blames for the Browns’ problems, but one thing is obvious: Cleveland lacks weapons on the offensive side of the ball.

That’s why Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot has already linked the Browns to two star wide receivers: Davante Adams and DeAndre Hopkins.

Adams requested a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders on Tuesday, and many expect the Tennessee Titans to move Hopkins before the Nov. 5 trade deadline.

The question is, do any of these wide outs actually make sense for Cleveland?

The Browns have a receiver of their own who could end up on the trade block: Amari Cooper. Cooper is in the final year of his contract and Cleveland showed no interest in extending him in the offseason. With the Browns struggling, they could trade him in the next few weeks.

That likely rules out Hopkins, who finds himself in the same situation as Cooper: an aging pass catcher in the final year of his contract.

But what about Adams?

The 31-year-old is under contract until 2026 and has shown that he still has a lot of potential. Would it make sense for the Browns to add him to their arsenal?

Of course, that depends on what direction Cleveland takes in the coming weeks. The Browns appear to be out of Super Bowl contention and have all sorts of problems, including the quarterback position. That means acquiring Adams would be a move for the future rather than 2024.

Whatever the case may be, it should be an interesting situation to keep an eye on for Cleveland.
