NFL star Tyreek Hill erupts on the sideline during the Dolphins’ third straight loss

It’s been a tough few weeks for the Miami Dolphins’ offense.

During a Week 2 game against the Buffalo Bills, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion.

Backup quarterback Skylar Thompson filled in for Tagovailoa for the rest of the game. Thompson also saw action in Week 3, but Miami turned to Tyler Huntley for Monday night’s game against the Titans.

Losing Tagovailoa hurt the Dolphins’ offensive performance.

All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill’s frustration with offensive woes appeared to boil on the sidelines during Miami’s recent loss.

In the second half of the game, cameras captured an animated Hill patrolling the sideline as the Dolphins trailed the Titans by double digits.

Hill, who led the NFL with 1,799 receiving yards last season, finished the game with 23 yards. The eight-time Pro Bowler’s performance in recent games has also been disappointing. Hill hasn’t caught a touchdown pass since Tua Tagovailoa was sidelined.

Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel said he understands why Hill is frustrated.

“I would expect him to be visibly upset with someone,” McDaniel said after the Dolphins’ 31-12 loss. “A lot of times guys yell at… He’s a leader and he wanted to do everything he could to make sure the outcome wasn’t like that. There are a lot of guys in the locker room challenging each other, and we get an opportunity to see what we’re made of.”

During Tagovailoa’s absence, McDaniel said it was everyone’s responsibility to find a way to get the offense moving in the right direction.

“The tape has a story in it and all the things we’re trying to do,” McDaniel said. “They didn’t do anything that really surprised us. We felt like we could get these guys the ball in prime situations. We didn’t succeed.”

“Well, I don’t think…that’s not up to my standard at all. I know for sure I have a role in the whole thing, but it’s definitely a collective thing and we have to figure out how to score points, and these guys can definitely help us do that.”

The Dolphins will try to turn things around on Sunday when they take on the New England Patriots.
