JR Motorsports confirms the signing of a driver for the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series

JR Motorsports has officially announced Carson Kvapil as a full-time Xfinity Series driver for the 2025 season.

This announcement is a big step for the promising young driver and the team. Kvapil, who will take the wheel of the No. 1 Camaro, is sponsored by Bass Pro Shops.

JR Motorsports confirmed the news on social media, posting:

“The call he was waiting for. JR Motorsports is proud to promote @Carson_Kvapil to FULL-TIME racing in the @NASCAR_Xfinity Series in 2025 with the support of @BassProShops.”

At just 21 years old, Carson Kvapil carries a rich lineage as the son of former NASCAR driver Travis Kvapil. His rise through the ranks was marked by notable successes in the grassroots sports scene. Kvapil captured the Carolina Pro Late Model Series championship in 2020 and followed that with a championship in the CARS Super Late Model Tour in 2021. He later celebrated back-to-back championships in JR Motorsports Late Model Stock during CARS Tour events.

Kvapil made his Xfinity Series debut at Martinsville Speedway in April and secured a commendable fourth-place finish. Over the course of the season, Kvapil competed in eight Xfinity Series races, earning three top-five finishes, four top-10 finishes and a notable second-place finish at Dover International Speedway.

Regarding his new contract, Kvapil said, as quoted by NASCAR.com:

“I’m just very lucky to have been able to drive this JR Motorsports car for the last three years. From where I was before I got this vehicle to where I am now, I just never thought I would be in this position. I just can do it.” I can’t thank Kelley, Dale Jr. and LW and all the people at JR Motorsports enough.

“Without them giving me the opportunity in Florence (in 2021), none of this would happen.”

The driver also posted on social media:

“I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time! I am incredibly grateful to Johnny Morris, @BassProShops, @DaleJr, @EarnhardtKelley and @lwmiller88 for believing in me enough to work full time in 2025. And also everyone else who helped me achieve this opportunity.”

The decision to bring Kvapil on board as a full-time driver speaks volumes about his potential and the confidence JR Motorsports has in his abilities. This announcement also comes amid other significant changes to the team’s roster, including the signing of another rising star, Connor Zilisch, for the 2025 season.
