Former Packers WR Davante Adams is asking the Raiders for a trade

Two years after moving from the Green Bay Packers to the Las Vegas Raiders, All-Pro receiver Davante Adams is once again hoping for a trade. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Adams told the Raiders that he would prefer to be traded.

According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Raiders are willing to consider offers for Adams that include a second-round pick and additional compensation.

Adams, who turns 32 in December, is under contract through the 2026 season, but the Raiders could (and probably would, barring a trade) get out of the contract as early as next offseason, which would mean a makes exchange increasingly possible.

The Packers rebuilt the receiver position through the draft and will not trade for an aging wide receiver. So where could Adams be traded? A reunion with Aaron Rodgers in New York is possible. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen could use receiver help. A potential nightmare landing spot for the Packers is Detroit, where Adams would pair with Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams and give the Lions an excellent trio of receivers.

Adams, a second-round pick of the Packers in the 2014 draft, caught 18 passes for 209 yards and a touchdown in the Raiders’ first three games of 2024. He missed Week 4 with a hamstring injury.

Adams has caught over 100 passes and over 1,000 receiving yards in four straight seasons and in five of the last six seasons. In his first season with the Raiders in 2022, he led the NFL with 14 touchdown catches.

The Packers traded Adams to the Raiders in March 2022. In eight seasons with the Packers, Adams caught 669 passes for 8,121 yards and 73 touchdowns. The Packers received a first and second round pick in return for Adams.

Adams is a six-time Pro Bowler and three-time first-team All-Pro. He led the NFL in touchdowns in 2020 and was an All-Pro with the Packers in both 2020 and 2021.
