The Las Vegas Raiders offense is just enough to beat the Cleveland Browns

It wasn’t pretty, but the Las Vegas Raiders are now 2-2 after defeating the Cleveland Browns 20-16 on their home field.

Coach Antonio Pierce and the Raiders gave their fans a good feeling after getting this victory despite being shorthanded.

While the Raiders have struggled offensively this season and this game was by no means an offensive explosion, the Raiders were able to make enough plays to earn a win.

The Raiders were without star wide receiver Davante Adams in this game. When a play breaks down, Gardner Minshew II often looks Adams’ way, and Adams makes a big play, keeping the drive alive.

Without that safety valve and superstar playmaker, the Raiders offense will have a hard time moving the ball.

However, the Raiders kept up their pace at an impressive pace against a solid Browns defense.

Offensive coordinator Luke Getsy was more aggressive with his play in this game, which led to a better offensive performance. Getsy hadn’t opened the playbook much in previous games, limiting the Silver and Black on the offensive side of the ball.

Minshew completed 14 of 24 passes for 130 yards. Although he didn’t throw a touchdown, he moved the ball efficiently, which is what the Raiders always needed him to do. He also didn’t throw an interception and kept the ball out of action for most of the game.

The Raiders’ running game looked better than it has at any point all season. They had struggled a lot before this game, but thanks to their ability to play on the ground they were able to sustain their attacks.

Las Vegas managed 152 yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries. That was a good 5.2 yards per carry, the best total the Raiders have achieved this year. Raider Nation is certainly hoping this can be the start of the Raiders’ running game.

Jakobi Meyers led the Raiders on the day with five catches for 49 yards. When the Raiders needed a big play through the air, Meyers provided it.

Tre Tucker also had a productive day, catching five passes for 41 yards. With Adams out, the Raiders needed him and Meyers to make big plays. They delivered.

It wasn’t an offensive outburst, but that robber showed improvement on the offensive side of the ball. They’ll be hoping they can keep it up against the Denver Broncos as they look for a winning record.
