Justin Fields makes history for the Pittsburgh Steelers with their loss to the Colts

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Justin Fields posted eye-popping statistics in the Steelers’ loss to the Indianapolis Colts. After falling behind by as many as 17 points, Fields had to test the team, which he did, nearly leading Pittsburgh to a stunning comeback victory.

Instead, Fields and the Steelers fell just short, but Fields achieved something with his efforts that no other Steelers quarterback had ever accomplished. After throwing for 312 yards, rushing for 57 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, Fields is the only quarterback in Steelers history to have over 300 passing yards, over 50 rushing yards and two or more total touchdowns in franchise history had.

Fields did something that Ben Roethlisberger and Terry Bradshaw never did, and the most likely candidate who could have done something like Fields would have been Kordell Stewart, but even he couldn’t do that.

However, he fumbled the ball on a crucial play that took points off the board for the Steelers. Fields has to clean up these plays in his game, but he tried valiantly to get the Steelers back in the game. Now it remains to be seen whether the Steelers can ultimately capitalize on Fields’ surprisingly hot start to the season.
