Steelers great James Harrison upsets the officiating team for giving the Colts a win

Former Steelers strongman and linebacker James Harrison lost his temper on social media over what he said was terrible officiating that allegedly led to Pittsburgh’s loss to the Colts.

Despite losing their starting quarterback (to the addition of the ageless Joe Flacco), Indianapolis won 27-24 and improved to 2-2.

Harrison called the Colts’ win the result of terrible, biased officiating and congratulated the home team on their win.

Harrison posted on @NFLOfficiating @Colts win the game 24-27!”

The Steelers star then proudly exercised his privilege to speak out without facing league punishment.

“Sorry but I can’t be fined!!!” Harrison also posted.

To be fair, the Colts got off to a quicker start than the Steelers, taking a 17-0 lead in the first half.

The flag flew for the Steelers on Sunday as Pittsburgh picked up six penalties for 53 yards. A crucial flag came in the third quarter when Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick was hit with an unnecessary penalty to set the Colts up for a score and extend their lead to 24-10.

Fitzpatrick sounded his flag, calling it a cheap penalty that again punished a player for tackling with a little more “Englishness.”

“I thought we were playing soccer… That’s not the game I grew up with… you can’t beat anyone,” Fitzpatrick said.

“This call to Fitzpatrick will change the entire outcome of this game,” Harrison wrote on X at the start of the game.

Another crucial call during the game was a fumble on Steelers quarterback Justin Fields, whose knee appeared to touch the ground before the ball was released. Unfortunately for Fields and the Steelers, the referees saw a turnover and gave the ball to Indy.

It’s been a tough week for NFL officials, starting Thursday when referees called a mysterious “face mask” penalty on a Giants player, even though a clear review showed the Cowboys player was the one with a handful of masks .
