Derrick Henry’s breathtaking 87-yard touchdown run makes Ravens history

The Baltimore Ravens needed just one offensive play to find the end zone on Sunday night against the Buffalo Bills, making franchise history.

After forcing Josh Allen and the Bills’ red-hot offense to punt on the game’s first drive, Lamar Jackson and his Ravens offense started from their own 13-yard line.

On the first snap, Jackson turned and handed the ball to his star running back Derrick Henry, who immediately saw a hole on the right side of the line that he liked.

Thanks to a perfect block from full-back Patrick Ricard, Henry was quickly in the second level and saw the light of day when he turned on the burners down the right sideline.

As the Bills defenders pursued him, Henry kept pace, looking at the video board in front of him to see where the Buffalo players were. But they couldn’t catch up, as Henry went into the end zone for an 87-yard touchdown on the Ravens’ first play from scrimmage on home turf.

“King Henry” was a huge success for Baltimore this offseason, as the former Tennessee Titans running back hit the free agent market as one of the top options for each team.

In the end, Henry signed a two-year contract with Baltimore worth up to $16 million.

With Jackson already a major threat when he has the ball in his hands, Henry performed as promised despite the Ravens entering this game with a 1-2 record on the year.
