Chiefs players support struggling Travis Kelce with custom t-shirts

Several Kansas City Chiefs players were spotted wearing custom Travis Kelce T-shirts before their road game on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers – a show of support for their star tight end who has faced mounting criticism for his poor start to the 2024 season is exposed.

Kansas City wide receiver Rashee Rice was spotted warming up at SoFi Stadium wearing custom Kelce gear, as were several other Chiefs players. Rice told CBS Sports he provided the shirts for all of the Chiefs’ wide receivers, who consider Kelce a leader and mentor.

It’s not the first time Chiefs players have used warmup t-shirts as a sign of solidarity with their teammates. Last week Skyy Moore,

Kelce is widely considered one of the greatest tight ends to ever play in the NFL, but his 2024 season has gotten off to a slow start.

Before Sunday’s game, Kelce had just 69 yards, eight receptions and no touchdowns so far this season.

However, in Sunday’s game against the Chargers, he finally seemed to get it done, hauling in seven catches for a total of 89 yards – surpassing his season total from the previous three games. The Chiefs ultimately won 17-10.

After three slow games to start the season, his critics had begun to take aim at his high-profile relationship with Taylor Swift and his life in the spotlight over the past year, which included a cameo appearance alongside Swift on her Eras Tour and Attending the USA included Offen wearing a Gucci bucket hat.

Former ESPN analyst Todd McShay called direct attention to Kelce’s lifestyle on the Ryen Russillo Podcast last week when he denounced the 34-year-old athlete. “Aren’t we allowed to say he’s out of shape? That he partied all offseason? He flew around the world with his… most famous person?

However, McShay also expressed confidence that Kelce would improve as the season progressed.

“Will he get into shape now as the season progresses? Yes, I’m sure he will. He’s an incredible competitor, he’s one of the best to ever do it.”

Meanwhile, Swift herself was nowhere to be seen in the audience on Sunday.

The pop star performed at Kansas City’s first two home games in September, but was absent from the Chiefs’ first road game in Atlanta last week.

She was not seen in Los Angeles when the Chiefs played their second road game in two weeks on Sunday.
