Bucs vs. Eagles: Friday injury report

Well, Bucs fans…I have good news and bad news for you. What do you want first? This week, much like the rest of the NFC South, the Bucs looked like a MASH unit. The final injury report of the week will contain 19(!) names. But one of them was a surprisingly late addition.

Bucs head coach Todd Bowles told the media after practice on Friday that rookie receiver Jalen McMillan suffered a stroke Hamstring injury that day and has now been included in the team’s report. He is now considered questionable for the game. McMillan, a third-round pick from Washington, burst onto the scene with a touchdown in Week 1 but has been largely quiet since then. He has just 59 yards on three catches in his first three games. McMillan has the second-most snaps among all Bucs receivers this year with 134. McMillan is officially listed as questionable for the game.

Bowles confirmed that defensive end Calijah Kancey will be out again, further delaying his 2024 debut. He also said All-Pro safety Antoine Winfield Jr. is also out. Aside from those three, all 16 other players in the report appear leaning toward playing on Sunday. This means nose tackle Vita Vea, who suffered an MCL sprain in Week 2 against the Lions, may return to bolster the Bucs’ defensive line.

Eagles are getting healthier

Meanwhile, the Bucs’ Week 4 opponent posted a few good news for their fans.

The Eagles are officially only missing one player for the game. Wide receiver DeVonta Smith is out last week due to a concussion. Fellow starting receiver AJ Brown was a limited participant and is now questionable. Brown had missed the team’s last two games. Right tackle Lane Johnson was also a surprisingly limited participant on Friday and is also listed as questionable.
