Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur: Premier League – live | Premier League

Important events

Some good news for United. Your women’s team have just secured a hard-fought 1-0 win at Everton. Spurs Women will soon face Aston Villa.

Manchester United have remained winless in their last three games against Tottenham; They had previously won against them four times straight away. The only thing we should be guaranteed today is goals. The last 14 meetings between these two teams have only been 1-0 – and there hasn’t been a goalless draw between them in more than a decade.

The last time United failed to score at least two goals at home against Spurs was when they were beaten 6-1 at home by Jose Mourinho’s side in 2020 – a day when Son scored twice and United more than played with ten men for an hour. Ten Hag’s team has its problems and Postecoglou’s football can be brilliant… but it’s hard to imagine a repeat of that result today.

The question arises Why, Erik, did you put him on the bench during the visit to Crystal Palace last week? However, Rashford traditionally plays well against Tottenham, with three home goals against Spurs in the recent past.

As for this game, here is some pre-game reading on both sides, with Ten Hag urging patience as he integrates some of United’s young additions, and Spurs new signing Dom Solanke quickly gaining confidence.

The final phase of Ipswich against Villa look very interesting indeed if that’s your bag. Daniel Harris is totally into it.

preamble

Good afternoon everyone. The main event of this weekend’s football program is upon us at Old Trafford and has the potential to be an absolute blast. Two exciting but somewhat struggling teams, both of whom have had a mixed record in the Premier League so far this season, face each other. Will Ange Postecoglou’s demanding, high-risk football benefit against an often vulnerable Manchester United? Or can Erik ten Hag’s spontaneous strikers, supported by the home crowd, give the Dutchman some much-needed rest? The midfield battle will be fascinating in itself, as stability in the center is the strength of both sides.

The news before the game: Son Heung-min is missing from Spurs through injury, while this comes too soon for United for Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and new signing Leny Yoro. Ten Hag had to consider some dilemmas when selecting attacks.

Kick-off is at 4:30pm BST and the official team news will follow in the next post. I look forward to it!
