College Football Week 5 Scores, Scores: Alabama beats Georgia and two top-10 teams are upset on an exciting day

College Football Week 5 Scores, Scores: Alabama beats Georgia and two top-10 teams are upset on an exciting day

The biggest game of the season so far was a huge success.

No. 4 Alabama had No. 2 Georgia on the ropes early in their top-five showdown, leading 28-0 at one point, but the Bulldogs just kept fighting back and forced a dramatic finish in Tuscaloosa. In the end, after exchanging the lead late in the fourth quarter, Alabama secured the victory with a miraculous catch-and-run TD by freshman Ryan Williams and a subsequent interception in the end zone by cornerback Zabien Brown.

The 41-34 score capped an incredible day of college football — one that started early when Kentucky took on No. 6 Ole Miss in Oxford and stunned the Rebels 20-17 in a back-and-forth that ended with a failed field goal that would have made the equalizer possible.

And another top-ranked team lost at home to an unranked opponent as Arizona beat No. 10 Utah 23-10 in an overnight upset.

Later in the day, No. 21 Oklahoma received a late pick 6 to set up a comeback win against Auburn and earn its first SEC victory. No. 16 Notre Dame also earned a decisive victory by holding off No. 15 Louisville, while No. 9 Penn State battled No. 19 Illinois at home and Colorado defeated UCF on the road.

And to cap off the night, No. 25 Boise State cruised to a big 45-24 win over Washington State with running back Ashton Jeanty.

    No. 4 Alabama wins an absolutely crazy game against No. 2 Georgia. Bama blew a 28-point lead but found a way to salvage it in the final minutes with a circus catch by Ryan Williams.

    Arizona gets the surprising road win against No. 10 Utah, which couldn’t get much going on offense with backup quarterback Isaac Wilson. First Big 12 win ever for the Wildcats.

    Ashton Jeanty is the story of the day for Boise State. He ran for 259 yards and 4 touchdowns to firmly put himself in the Heisman conversation.

    Arizona QB Noah Fifita made two brilliant throws on this drive, including a 35-yard dime to Keyan Burnett in the end zone while on the move.

    The Wildcats have a two-point lead over No. 10 Utah at 23-10. 8:13 to play.

    Isaac Wilson brings Caleb Lohner in for the score and the Utes got within one score of Arizona in the fourth quarter.

    Ashton Jeanty’s Heisman-like play continues as Boise State edges Wazzu, 38-17.

    The Boise State RB had 18 carries for 218 yards and 3 touchdowns today. Unreal!

    Utah QB Isaac Wilson, once again filling in for injured starter Cam Rising, struggled today.

    Arizona led 16-3 after that interception set up another field goal.

    Big response for Washington State, which opened the 4th quarter with a 36-yard TD pass from John Mateer to Kyle Williams.

    Reduces Boise State’s lead to 24-1

  • UCLA pick 6!

    Just when it seemed like Oregon was going to slam the door on UCLA, Bryan Addison keeps the door open with a 96-yard pick-6 just before halftime.

    The Ducks lead 28-10 at halftime.

  • Boise State touchdown!

    Boise State takes advantage of a short field after stopping WSU on 4th down.

    Maddux Madsen threw to Matt Lauter, who ran the catch all the way to the end zone.

    Broncos are led by two touchdowns.

  • We’re back from Wazzu-Boise in the second half and the Cougars had some positive momentum, but a deep sack simply killed it. They will pass it to the Broncos, who will take over at their own 10-yard line.

  • Oregon gets off to a fast start against UCLA

    The Ducks lead the Bruins 17-3 in the second quarter.

    This is Oregon’s first Big Ten game, but against a very familiar opponent.

  • Halftime: Boise State 17, Washington State 10

    Things have been tight in Boise so far. Ashton Jeanty broke off a big early run, but things have been pretty quiet for the Broncos since then.

  • Alabama interception!

    Bama’s Zabien Brown gets his 3rd INT in the end zone today against Georgia’s Carson Beck and that should seal the win for the Crimson Tide!

  • Georgia converts on 4th-and-2 and has the ball at the Alabama 36-yard line.

    Ryan Williams makes a 75-yard TD grab that might be the play of the year, and Bama is right back in front!
