OutKick’s Clay Travis Interviews Trump on Epic SEC Duel and State of Race: ‘This is Really Big Football’

Excited by the excitement of the long-standing rivalry between the University of Alabama and the University of Georgia, former President Trump participated in a wide-ranging interview about college football and the intersection of politics.

In an exclusive OutKick interview with Clay Travis, Trump highlighted the “energy” of Saturday night’s Alabama-Georgia game.

“This is really big football and it’s great to see,” Trump said.

The stadium crowd cheered as Trump was shown on the giant television screens and a video board watching the game with Sens. Katie Britt, Tommy Tuberville and Steve Daines of Montana.

When asked about his appeal to younger voters, Trump said his campaign was “way up.”

“We are way up there with young people. It’s an honor. They are very smart. And she (Kamala Harris) called them names and said they’re not smart, and I’ll be honest, they are.” “A lot smarter than them,” he said.

“There has never been such energy as there is now. And I guess I am, but it’s also when you look at our country and what happened. Our country is in bad shape and is in a very dangerous place right now. But we love our country, and we will make it great again.

The changes to the NFL’s kickoff caught Trump’s attention, with the Republican candidate praising college football for sticking to the previous rules.

“Big college football is as big as the NFL,” he said. “I don’t know what they do with the kickoff return in the NFL. And of course I don’t want to get into controversy, but it looks so bad.”

“And it occurred to me that they didn’t do that in college and they shouldn’t,” he said. “And I think the NFL should go back. And maybe she’s a little more dangerous, but I doubt she’s more dangerous. It’s football.”

“I think they made a terrible mistake with this,” he said.

Trump turned his attention to Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate, Gov. Tim Walz, who was in attendance at the game between the two on Saturday Minnesota and Michigan in Ann Arbor.

“He was booed out of the stadium,” he said. “And you saw the hand we were dealt – it was a little different.”

“We have to wait and see what happens on November 5th. “I think it’s the most important day in the history of our country,” Trump said. “This will be the biggest election we’ve ever had because our country is in a bad place. I have always said that they are destroying our country, no, they destroyed it and we will bring it back.”

Trump turned his attention to seven-time NFL Super Bowl champion Tom Brady, who made his debut in the FOX Sports broadcast booth.

“I think he did really well. And I think he’ll do really well. He’s a winner, he’s a champion,” Trump said when asked about his performance. “And there are a lot of people who are jealous of him, so they will always say no matter how well he does, they will remain as negative as possible.”

“I think he’s doing fantastically well,” he said.
