Mojang Studios has launched its new Minecraft Live format, offering a first glimpse into the near future of Minecraft.
One of the biggest reveals during the show was next two major Minecraft content updates (or “game drops”), both of which have spookier themes for the spooky season
The first is called “Bundles of Bravery” and brings new features such as Hardcore Mode for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition and Bundles.
The second game, due out in the next few months, doesn’t have a name yet, but brings with it even scarier features like a new enemy mob and a new biome.

It’s the beginning of a new era for Minecraft. Mojang Studios recently announced its plans to change the evolution of the Minecraft universe over time, including smaller and more frequent content updates, the permanent discontinuation of the controversial Minecraft Live Mob Vote, and more targeted semi-annual Minecraft Live events. The first part of it is already here, because today Minecraft Live 2024 really started.

As usual, the headliner for this Minecraft Live is the next big content updates or game drops for Minecraft. Mojang Studios has revealed the first details of “Bundles of Bravery,” a smaller update coming to Minecraft players everywhere with more challenges and features just in time for the spooky season.

Of course, that’s not all, as Mojang actually debuted second We’ll see the game drop with a horror theme a little later. It’s exactly the kind of cohesive, relevant update I like to see in live service games like Minecraft, and it looks like a great continuation of Minecraft’s ongoing 15th anniversary celebrations. Spooky Minecraft updates for the spooky season

The first Minecraft Game Drop coming soon to players is “Bundles of Bravery,” which encompasses the spooky season with new features and mechanics that we already knew Mojang Studios is working with the community on.

The Bundles of Bravery update is expected to be available on all Minecraft platforms very soon. Here’s what Mojang has confirmed for the upcoming game drop.

Hardcore mode in Bedrock Edition. Hardcore Mode is a staple of Minecraft: Java Edition and challenges players to survive Minecraft at its most difficult with a single life. If you die, your game is over and you have to start all over again. Now, Hardcore Mode finally debuts in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition on modern platforms after years of community demand, offering a new level of challenge for the most experienced Minecraft players.
Bunch. Bundles were originally supposed to be part of the Minecraft Caves & Cliffs update, but were repeatedly delayed as Mojang tried to improve the feature. Now bundles are finally coming in the “Bundles of Bravery” game drop.
- The bundles are made from leather and mesh and can be dyed any color for customization
- Packs are accessed through the inventory and allow players to carry significantly more by storing items within them, such as portable chests

The next game drop continues the spooky theme, but may not have an official name yet. What we do know is that it brings a new enemy mob and biome to Minecraft and is expected to arrive in the next few months. Here’s what Mojang confirmed The Game Drop.

The pale garden. The Pale Garden, the latest new biome in the Minecraft overworld, is eerily quiet. It is desaturated and almost completely silent during the day. At night, new spooky ambient sounds are heard and players can encounter the local enemy pack.
- The Pale Garden consists of Pale Oak trees, Pale Hanging Moss and Pale Moss carpet, with the high density providing poor visibility for players
- The Pale Oak trees can be harvested for the Pale Oak wood set, which is nearly white
- This biome is also home to The Creaking
The creak. This new enemy mob only exists in the Pale Garden at night and fits perfectly into the Pale Oaks.
- The Creaker attacks players when it sees it, but only moves when players look away from it
- The Creaking One cannot be killed by a direct attack; Instead, players must track down the Creaking Heart associated with it
- The Creaking Heart block is hidden in a nearby Pale Oak and if it is destroyed, the Creaking associated with it will also die
- Players can mine “The Creaking Heart” with a Silk Touch pickaxe to pick it up and place it elsewhere, releasing a spooky creak at will
Set made of light oak wood. In addition to a new biome and a terrifying new mob, this game drop will include the Pale Oak wood set for players to build with.
- Like other wooden sets, this is a cosmetic addition that offers a new white aesthetic for blocks, stairs, doors, panels, fences, boats and more
- Players can also place Pale Hanging Moss and Pale Moss Carpet to complete the desaturated, spooky atmosphere

This game drop is a little later, but Mojang Studios has confirmed that The Pale Garden and The Creaking will be coming to Minecraft: Java Edition Snapshots, Minecraft: Bedrock Edition Betas, and Minecraft Preview in the near future. The features are expected to continue testing for a few months as Mojang finalizes them before the official release later this year.

Minecraft Live 2024 is in full swing

The latest Minecraft Live has aired Saturday, September 28, 2024, 1:00 p.m. ETand was the first of Mojang Studios’ reformatted shows. Smaller, more focused, and looking to the immediate future of the Minecraft universe, Minecraft Live 2024 is a celebration of all things Minecraft, and you can tune in on YouTube above.
