Angelina Jolie is ending her legal battle against the FBI over allegations that Brad Pitt abused her on a private jet

After a two-year battle, Angelina Jolie has dropped her lawsuit against the FBI over the FBI’s investigation into an alleged abuse incident between her and her ex-husband Brad Pitt.

The “Tomb Raider” star filed a motion to dismiss the case on Sept. 25, according to court documents obtained by Page Six.

Both parties are responsible for paying their own legal fees.

The FBI opened an investigation into Pitt’s alleged physical altercation between 49-year-old Jolie and her children on a private jet in 2016 after an anonymous call was received by the FBI.

The investigation concluded on November 22, 2016, with no charges filed against Pitt, 60. Days later, Jolie filed for divorce from the Once Upon a Time actor.

Jolie filed the lawsuit in April 2022 under the pseudonym “Jane Doe.” Citing the Freedom of Information Act, the actress sought information “about the agency’s investigation into a domestic violence incident that occurred several years ago and involved the plaintiff and her minor children, victims and witnesses.”

At the time, a source told Us that the lawsuit was a strategic move by Jolie to use any damaging information the FBI had about Pitt against him in their custody battle over their six children – which remains unresolved.

“Angelina is probably looking for a little piece of information, something else that she can use against Brad and harm him,” the insider shared.

“This is a desperate fishing expedition trying to find something that probably doesn’t exist in the FBI notes and make it public.”

In a separate countersuit, Jolie claimed that Pitt “choked one of the children and punched another in the face” while the family was traveling on a private plane from France to California, according to legal documents previously obtained by Page Six.

She also stated that the actor “grabbed her by the head” and “shaked her.”

“At one point he poured beer on Jolie. Another time, he poured beer and red wine on the children,” the documents continue.

Pitt has vehemently denied any claims of physical abuse and called Jolie’s claims against him “completely untrue.”
