The Cowboys’ Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence are reportedly out due to injuries

The Dallas Cowboys suffered two major defensive injuries in their 20-15 win over the New York Giants on Thursday night.

First, All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons injured his left ankle late in the fourth quarter. He was forced to leave the game and was diagnosed with a severe ankle sprain after an MRI scan on Friday.

Parsons, who led the Cowboys with 20 points, said afterward that he had injured his ankle and would try to stay on the field when they face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 5.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, it’s possible Parsons will miss more than the Steelers game, but the team hasn’t announced a timetable.

The other notable injury occurred to four-time Pro Bowl defensive lineman DeMarcus Lawrence, who injured his foot in the third quarter. Pelissero reports that the Cowboys’ leader (3) will be out for “several weeks.”

The Cowboys have two games left before their Week 7 bye.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Friday on 105.3 The Fan that he doesn’t believe either injury is serious.

“I’m glad they’re doing well. Both have a good feeling about it. “That’s usually a good sign,” Jones said. “I don’t know when I’ve seen a serious injury without the doctors saying it was a serious injury before the X-ray.”
