Across Greenville County, residents experienced power outages following the storms late September 24th and early September 25th.
With increased rain and wind forecast through September 27, Upstate residents should note their utility’s emergency contact information, including:

Shelter

The American Red Cross opened an emergency shelter at Crosswell Baptist Church, 219 S. Fishtrap Road in Greenville, for residents along the Saluda River who may need to evacuate due to the flooding.

According to the National Weather Service, the Saluda River near U.S. Highway 123 could rise higher than the February 2020 storm that displaced some residents. The shelter serves residents of Greenville and Pickens counties.

Streets that may be affected include Riverview Drive, Knollview Drive, Riverview Circle and Sentell Court. For more information, visit redcross.org.

Hour changes and closures

SC Department of Agriculture Fall Festival: September 27th, 12pm – 6pm, September 29th, 10am – 4pm

Cleveland Park Animal Hospital is closed until further notice.

Greenville County Schools will host an e-learning day on Friday September 27th. Schools and office buildings will be closed to the public and field trips will be canceled on Friday.
School will be open as usual on Thursday, September 26, however all extracurricular activities, including extended day programs, are canceled on Thursday.

Greenwood School District 50 will host an e-learning day on Friday September 27th. All extracurricular activities are also canceled for Thursday, September 26th.

Greenwood School District 52 will host an e-learning day on Friday September 27th. All extracurricular activities are also canceled for Thursday, September 26th.

Laurens County School District 55 An e-learning day will take place on Friday, September 27th. Schools and offices will be open on Thursday September 26th. All athletics and extracurricular activities are canceled on Thursday, September 26th. All Homecoming events are postponed and will take place on Friday, October 4th.

North Greenville University will be closed for in-person events from Thursday, September 26th, 4:00 p.m. to Friday, September 27th, 1:00 p.m

Greenville Zoo is closed on September 26th
