New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers suffered a concussion in Thursday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, according to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan.

Nabers suffered a hard blow in the fourth quarter of the loss while trying to hold onto a pass from Daniel Jones as it fell out of bounds. The receiver left the game and went to the locker room shortly afterwards.

In a post on Instagram after the game, Nabers assured fans that he was “all right.”

Before leaving due to injury, Nabers had 115 yards on 12 receptions, continuing his outstanding rookie season. The No. 6 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft has 386 receiving yards and 35 receptions, leading the NFL in both categories. His three receiving touchdowns are also the most in the league entering this season.

Nabers’ phenomenal rookie year will now be temporarily over, although it is unclear whether he will miss any game action. Typically, players return from a concussion in about a week and a half, although this time frame depends on the severity of the concussion.

Since New York plays on a Thursday, the team has the next ten days off before facing the Seattle Seahawks next Sunday. That time frame will give Nabers a chance to potentially be ready for Week 5, but the Giants likely won’t rush his return.

After Thursday’s loss, New York is off to a 1-3 start to the year, losing its first two games against the Minnesota Vikings and Washington Commanders before picking up a win against the Cleveland Browns last week.
