Parker McCollum and wife Hallie Ray make a promise to their son

Parker McCollum is on a hot streak in both his music career and his personal life. After a string of four songs reaching No. 1 on the charts and the birth of his first-born son, Major, life is a happy one for this rising star.

McCollum came over Taste of country nights to chat with Evan Paul, and the topic of his little boy came up.

Things quickly became serious.

McCollum was asked if he would do anything never What he can do as a father is based on his own experiences as a child and his upbringing. He knew his answer.

“My parents separated when I was very young, so I’ve always thought about it since I was a child,” he explains.

“Hallie Ray and I will be together forever. There is no doubt in my mind.”

Hallie Ray Light has been McCollum’s wife for two and a half years. The couple married on March 28, 2022 and welcomed baby Major Yancey Tyler McCollum on August 8, 2024.

“So I think that’s going to be crucial to his upbringing,” McCollum says, expressing his commitment to his marriage. “The stability of his childhood and the fact that we can both lean on each other forever, I think will be really important to me.”

McCollum wanted to make it clear that his parents weren’t a problem — he says they’re “wonderful people” — but that their marriage “didn’t work out, it didn’t last very long.”

As for his promise to his boy? Things will be different.

“I’m looking forward to making his life easier in some way,” says the singer.
