Micah Parsons will step up his Cowboys defense before Thursday Night vs. Giants

For two weeks in a row, the Dallas Cowboys defense has been subpar. Both the New Orleans Saints and Baltimore Ravens have had dominant performances at AT&T Stadium. Derek Carr shined at the start of Week 2, while the pair’s running game was unstoppable at certain points in the game.

No one was more upset about the execution in Dallas than Micah Parsons. On Tuesday he reiterated that it was time for them to rise to the challenge. The message was certainly sent during the meetings – now the results must appear on the pitch against New York on Thursday night.

“It’s very hard to say because everyone was nodding their head and saying, ‘Yeah, we all agree on that.’ But at the same time, it doesn’t show on the field,” Parsons said via Jon Machota of The athlete.

“I feel like as a competitor, at some point you have to be proud enough to say, ‘I’m not going to let this happen to me.’ I just feel like some people just allow themselves to be punched in the face all the time. When are you going to get up?”

From the outside looking in, the defensive tackle position was a weak spot for Dallas. The opposing offensive lines try to pass the ball to the central defenders. However, Parsons and someone like that Demarcus Lawrence also do not produce at high speed.

However, Parsons doesn’t feel the need to single anyone out, even if the portrayal isn’t up to standard. He is not wired to confront people in difficult times.

“I just feel like I’m not at the point where I can go to someone yet because it’s hard to blame just one specific person for something,” Parsons said. “I don’t think that’s right.”
