For Malik Nabers, Thursday evening is a “normal game”

For some soccer players, playing in prime time has a very different feel.

In the case of New York Giants rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers, he says Thursday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys is just another game.

The rookie wide receiver has been one of the biggest headliners in the sport so far and is coming off a game where he made some highlight plays in the New York Giants’ win over the Cleveland Browns.

Before Thursday night’s game against the division rival Dallas Cowboys, Nabers spoke to the media about a variety of topics, including playing in prime time, his talent for elite catches and his ability to throw the football.

Read what Nabers had to say here:

About the game against the Dallas Cowboys…

“I’m just excited to go out and play.”

The meaning of this week’s game…

“It’s a conference game, so it’s always going to feel good to play the conference and try to get a win out there.”

When playing in prime time…

“It’s a normal game.”

What Nabers thought of his catches against Cleveland…

“They were good catches, but I also made some much better catches. It doesn’t surprise me, it’s just the way I play, it’s who I am.

“I always make some crazy catches in training, so I’m excited to see how the training translates to the game.”

He breaks off his touchdown reception…

“The way my mind was going, when I saw where the ball was going, I just jumped. And I didn’t want to try and fall backwards, hoping my body would go further back and I wouldn’t be able to get my foot in. So I caught it, just kept my body moving and twisted my waist. Then my feet just followed my waist. After I turned around, I saw where I was and knew I had a little more room, so I just tried to get a foot lower.”
