Joe Biden’s Justice Department has now indicted at least seven Democrats

Following Thursday’s unsealed indictment, New York Mayor Eric Adams joins a handful of other Democrats indicted by the Biden administration’s Justice Department.

Under President Joe Biden, the DOJ brought two federal indictments against former President Donald Trump — one for mishandling classified documents and another for alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election — but has also gone after Democrats, particularly the president’s son, Hunter Biden.

Last November, Trump said in an interview with Noticias Univision that the DOJ has “allowed the next party, if I happen to be president and I see someone doing well and they’re doing me very badly, then I tell them to go and “impeach him… him.” would be eliminated from the election. He has repeatedly described the charges against him as part of a political witch hunt.

On Thursday, the 57-page indictment against Adams was unsealed, revealing five federal charges related to donations to his 2021 campaign, including luxury gifts from foreign companies, wire fraud and bribery. He said he has no intention of resigning as he faces these criminal charges.

The mayor is expected to have several days to surrender to authorities.

Hunter Biden

Biden’s son Hunter Biden was impeached twice during his father’s presidency. First in September 2023 for three offenses related to the purchase of a firearm. He was convicted on all three counts in June and is scheduled to be sentenced on November 13.

His second arraignment came in December 2023, when he was charged with nine tax offenses, three of them felonies. The DOJ alleged that Hunter Biden “engaged in a four-year scheme in which he elected not to pay at least $1.4 million in self-assessed federal taxes that he owed for tax years 2016 through 2019 and to withdraw his tax assessment for the 2018 tax year” when he filed false tax returns.

He pleaded guilty to all counts in federal court earlier this month. His sentencing is scheduled for December 16.

The former New Jersey senator was indicted in September 2023 along with his wife Nadine Menendez for allegedly using his power and influence to obtain unlawfully generous gifts. He has protested his innocence.

After his nine-week corruption trial in July, he was convicted of 16 crimes. His upcoming sentencing date has been postponed to January 29, 2025.

Former Representative Terrance John “TJ” Cox

In August 2022, the DOJ charged the California representative with 28 criminal offenses: 15 counts of wire fraud, 11 counts of money laundering, one count of financial institution fraud, and one count of campaign contribution fraud.

Cox appeared in federal court on Wednesday, maintained his innocence and pleaded not guilty to all charges. He is scheduled to appear in court at a status hearing on Dec. 11, although his attorney, Mark Coleman, told ABC30, “Our hope is that we can negotiate a fair resolution in this case; We just need more time.”
