"No officer came to the street to answer," says Aaditya Thackeray about waterlogging in the state

MUMBAI: Launch of a scathing attack against Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde over Waterlogging in different parts of the state, Shiv Sena UBT Indian politician Aaditya Thackeray on Thursday said that the situation in Mumbai, Thane, Pune and many other places in the state was terrible due to yesterday’s rain and that even half an hour of rain puts him at risk.
“Yesterday, the Prime Minister made a statement that he would make Mumbai pothole-free, but just half an hour of rain exposed him. Various places received Heavy rainfall and some have seen minimal damage, and it has been flooded. One person has died. Nobody cares about Mumbai,” said Aaditya Thackeray.
“The situation in Mumbai, Pune and Thane was terrible. Many citizens were stuck in traffic yesterday. The situation at the metro stations was bad. One of the metro stations started leaking. No one from the regime was on the road to respond. Be it BMCNeither the Mumbai Police nor any other agency, no one has taken responsibility and approached the public,” he added.
Torrential rains across Mumbai on Wednesday caused severe flooding and traffic congestion in several parts of the city, and a landslide was reported on the Mumbra Bypass, further disrupting traffic in the city.
Mumbai’s Kurla East, Nehru Nagar and Chembur districts experienced severe flooding, and Kurla Bridge experienced severe traffic congestion due to the rain.
Heavy rains triggered a landslide on the Mumbra bypass at around 11.30 pm, disrupting traffic on the bypass for more than three hours.
In a tragic turn of events, a 45-year-old woman drowned in an open drain in Andheri’s MIDC area.
On Thursday, Central Railway said local train services were restored at Andheri station in the morning after heavy rains occurred overnight in Mumbai, Maharashtra state, causing significant flooding.
