Adams’ administration has already been rocked by a series of high-level resignations amid at least four federal investigations. One of the probes is said to focus on whether Adams’ mayoral campaign team colluded with the Turkish government to receive illegal campaign contributions from abroad. As part of the investigation, the FBI raided the Brooklyn home of Adams’ top fundraiser last year. Federal investigators are also looking into whether Adams pressured the city’s fire commissioner to approve a new building for the Turkish consulate despite safety concerns.

Adams, 64, a former NYPD captain and Brooklyn borough president, has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing. In a statement released last night, Adams said all charges against him were “completely false and based on lies.” See the full statement.

“If I am accused,” he said, “I am innocent and I will fight it with all my strength and determination.”

Israel attacks Lebanon despite attempts to end bombing campaign that killed over 600 people

The United States, the European Union and nearly a dozen other countries called for an immediate 21-day ceasefire to allow negotiations between Israel and Hezbollah, amid fears of a full-scale war across the region.
